Yerba Mate is a herbal tea rich in antioxidants and nutrients that does wonders in boosting energy levels and mental focus.
Although this tea is traditionally enjoyed hot, it is also enjoyed around the world cold in the form of Tetteray. Inspired by our fellow Yerba drinkers around the globe, here are a few quick recipes that can give you the amazing health benefits of Yerba while still keeping you cool.
Iced Fruit Fusion
8 cups hot water
1/3 cup loose Simply Yerba Fruit Fusion Tea
2 cups fresh orange juice
2 teaspoons of honey
sliced fruit: strawberries, cherries, pineapple
Steep Simply Yerba Mate in a large pitcher with hot water for five minutes. Strain and refigerate until cold.
Stir orange juice and honey into the brewed yerba mate. Add fresh fruit.
Serve with Ice and Enjoy!
Lemon Ginger Iced Tea
1 cup Simply Yerba Tea
1/2 cup lemon zest
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon honey
hot water for steeping
fresh lemon wedges to serve
Combine Yerba Mate, lemon zest and ginger in an airtight container.
Scoop 2 teaspoons of the tea blend in 8 ounces of hot water for 5 minutes.
Refrigerate to cool.
Once cool, stir in honey and add fresh mint and lemon wedges.
Pour and Enjoy!
Cashew Yerba Cold Brew
1 cup hot water
1 tablespoon Simply Yerba Tea
1/3 cup soaked cashews
1 cup cold water
dash of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of honey
Steep Yerba Mate tea in hot water.
Allow tea to cool. Once cooled, add tea to blender with soaked cashews, cold water, cinnamon, vanilla, and honey.
Blend until smooth.
Pour and enjoy!
